    WELCOME WAHOOS!

    Welcome Wahoos!

We are excited to start swim practice today and to see old friends and meet new friends. We understand many of you/your swimmers have schedule conflicts with EOY school events. Please try and make any portion of your swimmer's practice.

Please review the schedule for this week and next week:

Afternoon Practice Schedule (No Friday practice)

    High School kids: 3:00 - 4:00

    Elementary School kids: 4:15 - 5:00

    Middle School kids: 5:00 - 6:00

NEW INFO: Starting next Monday, May 18th we will start our Wee Wahoo's practice:

    Wee Wahoos 4:15 - 4:45

    COACH ALLIE ON DECK

Coach Allie is the lead coach on deck for these first two weeks of practice. Please allow the coaching staff to lead and teach your swimmers. We strongly encourage parents/guardians to stay out of the pool deck area during practice. This helps the swimmers to focus on their coaches; learn quickly; and work hard. You are welcome to watch the practice from the tree lined area of the parking lot. This is also a great area to meet other parents. If you would like to talk to the coaches about your swimmer, please wait until after the practice schedule. Coaches need to be alert and focused on the swimmers in the pool the entire time. As the team rep, I (or a member of the swim board), will also be on the pool deck to answer your concerns or questions.

    WEATHER

The air and water will be chilly this week. Please have an extra towel and dry clothes for your swimmer in the car. This will insure these items will stay dry and allow your swimmers to warm up quickly after practice (everything gets wet on the pool deck).

Pro Tip: There are showers in the restrooms with hot water.

It's a good time to discuss the rain policy. We will have practice in the rain provided there is no lightening. Typically we follow the 30 minute rule - if we hear thunder, swimmers will be asked to leave the pool until 30 minutes have passed with no new thunder (the timer resets with each new thunder). This rule is consistent with swim meets. Coaches may switch to land exercises or other training as needed.
